Festival of Light - Saturday 16th May 2009
Put this date in your diary this community celebration is a day of fun and magic not to be missed.
You are invited to participate in a Lantern making workshop on May the 9th with acclaimed company Lightn Up of the Lismore Lantern Festival.
Participants then have the opportunity to particpiate in the Festival of
Light on May the 16th, in the evening parade around the lake which will finish with a spectacular fire sculpture in the middle of the lake.
The Festival starts from 2pm with a free community fun day Live Music,
Story Telling, Pony Rides, Jumping Castles, Childrens Craft Workshops, and
Food Stalls.
At 5pm a spectacular Lantern Parade will depart around the lake, and the
evening will end with a fire sculpture floating on water in the middle of the lake.
Community Workshop: Sat 9th May 10am, Oxenford Youth Centre Ph 5529 8087 to
register interest. Open to all ages, come and make a lantern to carry in the
parade.
If you can¹t make it on the 9th, you can come and decorate a lantern on the
day.
The Festival of Light is an intiative of Lifeline, run by the Northern Gold
Coast Communities for Children Program at the Oxenford Youth Centre.
