P & C News - Parents Social Dinner
On Friday 7th November the P&C hosted its inaugural ‘Parents of CSSS Social Dinner’ at Pino’s restaurant and The Chocolate Room at Coomera City.
International Teachers Day - Thank you
On behalf of the teaching staff at CSSS we would like to thank our wonderful P+C who supported our teaching staff with a delicious morning tea on Friday 31st October.
Main Roads to improve Exit 54
Main Roads is proposing to improve Exit 54 to relieve congestion during peak times on the western side of
the Coomera Interchange. The Coomera precinct is rapidly
developing and as a result the road network in the area is facing
increasing demands.
2009 Booklists
We are pleased to announce that Kookaburra Educational Resources has been selected as the bookpack supplier to Coomera Springs State School for back to school 2009.
Uniform Expectations for 2009
Next year will be the first time that both “sports” and “dress” uniform are in full use from Day 1. This year we have had excellent cooperation from families supporting our school community student uniform expectations. We anticipate the same level of support in 2009.
Prep 09 Information Sessions
Last Wednesday parents of Prep students for 2009 were invited to attend an Information session. Sessions covered topics such as what to expect in Prep, uniforms, booklist ordering and much, much more. Any further enquiries can be directed to the school front office.
School Information Lines
Just a friendly reminder that our school has various telephone lines available for your information and convenience.
School Hours Reminder
Our school starts at 8:40am and finishes at 3pm. There is no rostered supervision of students who arrive early or stay late (except those enrolled in our extra curricular clubs, and Day Care/ Bus students).
Instrumental Recruitment Night
Last Monday 10th November evening there was a recruitment evening for those parents interested in their children joining the Coomera Springs Instrumental Program in 2009.
Family Information for 2009
If your family is leaving CSSS at the end of 2008 please inform the administration in writing as soon as possible.
Similarly if you know of any families wanting to enrol for 2009 please advise them to do so NOW!
Without this information we are unable to accurately determine the number and make up of classes for 2009.

Remembrance Day Dedication
We held a special dedication ceremony on the 11 November at 11.00am, including a minutes silence.
Lions Club Ormeau
Thankyou to our local Lions Club at Ormeau who recently donated $500 for the purchase of additional resources for our new Library. Mrs Marriott is going to have a lot of fun choosing some exciting resources for our students. Thankyou Lions Club, Ormeau. We appreciate your support!
Homestay Families Required
Upper Coomera State College in conjunction with Education Queensland International enjoy offering our community a cultural experience by giving you the opportunity to have a student from either Japan or Taiwan stay in your home.
Bank of the Future Competition
The Commonwealth Bank branch at Oxenford will be one of the first branches in Australia to have a completely new branch experience for customers as part of a new redesign program. They are inviting the local community to share in the festivities in early December.
